It offers up aromas of cherries, underbrush, black currants, and cedar. Evolved and medium-bodied with a silky finish, it will drink well for 5-7 years. – Robert Parker – Ramey Claret 2005 750ml - Click here for more information… Ramey Claret 2005 750ml Ramey Blend – Other Rated 91. Offers aromas of ripe plum and berry, with spice and sage. Though firm and full-bodied, this reveals a sense of elegance and finesse, ending with integrated tannins. Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Best from 2010 through 2016. 5,800 cases made. -Wine Spectator. – Ramey Claret 2006 750ml – Napa Napa Click here for more information… Ramey Claret 2006 750ml Kreinbacher Blend – Other New to the Michael Skurnik Wines portfolio as of 2008; Kreinbacher is located in Somlo, a tiny wine region approximately 100 km east of the Austrian Alps, on steep basalt volcanic slopes centered around an extinct volcano. Somlo produces excellent quality dry white wines that rival the more known Tokaj. Mainly native Hungary grapes are grown here: Juhfark (Sheep’s Tail), Harslevelu (Linden Leaf), Furmint and Olaszrizling (Welchsriesling). The wines are full-bodied and fiery with a salty pure mineral character, bright acidity and a rich texture. The estate was established in 2002 by Jozsef Kreinbacher. The vineyards are located in the prime section of the hill and are farmed organically. The wines are fermented and aged in 3-4 year old, 500 liter Hungarian oak barrels and bottle aged before released, as is the tradition in the region. These wines are produced in very small quantities! – Kreinbacher Oreg Tokek Old Vines 2006 750ml - Click here for more information… Kreinbacher Oreg Tokek Old Vines 2006 750ml Mazzi Blend – Other Blend: Corvina – 70% Rondinella – 25% Altri a bacca rossa – 5% Vineyard age (year of planting): Corvina: 1985 Rondinella: 1985 Altri a bacca rossa: 1985 Soil type: Calcarous, lime, clay Exposure: South-West Vinification and ageing: The grapes dry until February and lose over 50% of their weight, fermentation on the skins for 14 days in steel vats with temperature control, ageing in French oak barriques for 24 months.Cellaring in the bottle for 6 months – Mazzi Amarone Punta Di Villa 2004 750ml - Click here for more information… Mazzi Amarone Punta Di Villa 2004 750ml Mazzi Blend – Other A classic blend of 75% Corvina, 20% Rondinella and 5% Molinara from the Poeiga vineyard, the grapes are dried for a relatively short period of about 40 days in boxes before being fermented in stainless steel and then aged in used French-oak barriques for 18 months. In fact I think it’s the best non-Champagne fizz I’ve tasted, and wonderfully it is nothing like Champagne it’s 15% Riesling, 15% Pinot Noir and 70% Gruner Veltliner thank you very much. Riesling and GruVe derive from pre-harvests in the Grand Crus like Lamm and Gaisberg (!). The new disgorgement (2/08) is mostly 2004 with some 2003-2002 seems rounder and fruitier than last year’s, but it’s snappy with lots of GruVe raciness; more plush lees, leafier and it shows its sweetness less; even some batonnage aromas; articulate and lacy-Nicolas Chiquet could have made it. – Gobelsburg Brut Reserve NV 750ml - Click here for more information… Gobelsburg Brut Reserve NV 750ml |
